Youth Show

In the depths of the ocean, Petite Ondine, daughter of the Ocean King, feels like a stranger among her own kind. Her only wish is to discover the world above. But in the merfolk kingdom, it is forbidden to swim to the surface before the age of fifteen. In secret, she goes to see the Sea Witch, the only one who can grant her wish. The sorceress warns her: to reach land, she will have to give up a part of herself. Will she find her place among humans?

Anaïs Pellin freely reimagines Andersen’s famous tale, sprinkling it with a touch of emancipatory feminism. Through a heroine driven by independence who pushes against the limits of a life too narrow for her, this coming-of-age story—enhanced by object theatre and an enchanting musical atmosphere—explores the search for self and the choice of one’s destiny.
