Théâtre Cercle Molière's school matinees aim to introduce youth to theatre in French and address sometimes sensitive topics in a lively artistic context. Each performance is followed by a question-and-answer session with the artists to explore the themes suggested in the play, with an emphasis on encouraging the students to participate.

In the depths of the ocean, Petite Ondine, daughter of the Ocean King, feels like a stranger among her own kind. Her only wish is to discover the world above. But in the merfolk kingdom, it is forbidden to swim to the surface before the age of fifteen. In secret, she goes to see the Sea Witch, the only one who can grant her wish. The sorceress warns her: to reach land, she will have to give up a part of herself. Will she find her place among humans?
Anaïs Pellin freely reimagines Andersen’s famous tale, sprinkling it with a touch of emancipatory feminism. Through a heroine driven by independence who pushes against the limits of a life too narrow for her, this coming-of-age story—enhanced by object theatre and an enchanting musical atmosphere—explores the search for self and the choice of one’s destiny.

There are two of them. Yes, two.
On the hilltop, way up high, there they are—two.
Who are they? We don’t quite know. Giants? Not quite.
Are they lost? Not quite either.
Beneath their feet, there are two… times two… times two.
Small, small, very small.
What are they? We don’t quite know…
…but… maybe we’ll find out… and maybe you will too!
